WECO International supplies extremely high intensity infrared heaters using quartz tungsten and quartz halogen. Our quartz heating elements offer a range of benefits.

  • Quartz tungsten heaters reach high temperatures within seconds, operating at up to 1500°C (2732°F) with a wavelength emission of 1.6 emissions.
  • Halogen heaters contain halogen which reaches a temperature of 2600°C (4712°F)
  • These emitters heat up and cool down within seconds making them particularly suitable for systems requiring short cycle times.
  • Heat output is also very high making these heaters useful in high heat demand or in fast moving processes (paper, processes etc).

As well as Ceramicx quartz tungsten fast medium wave heaters and quartz halogen short wave heaters, WECO also supplies a unitized cooled array called FastIR.

The tungsten filament used in these quartz tungsten heaters is the porcupine or star type coil, which can operate at temperatures up to 1500°C (2732°F), with a peak wavelength emission of approximately 1.6 microns. It reaches top temperatures within seconds.

Halogen heaters use halogen gasto enable the supported tungsten filament to reach temperatures as high as 2600°C (4712°F). These tubes have peak emissions around 1 micron.
